Activities of our Trust

This Trust mainly provides educational aid, for the students who are studying in government schools.
In addition, it provides scholarships for the students who are academically good but financially weak. (In the year 2020 – 2021 the entire educational expenses of the rank holders including a blind have been met).
Educational aids as note books and uniform for poor children are given.
Telugu learning classes are offered online.

• Free Career Guidance

Under the auspices of OPR MEMORIAL CHARITABLE TRUST Chennai, through one of its divisions namely KRT CAREER ACADEMY a career guidance seminar for higher education has been conducted for two days via Video Conferencing through Zoom App for aspiring students from all over Tamilnadu. In that seminar eminent Scholars, Academicians along with our Trustees contributed immensely and at the end interacted with students and parents.

In Corona lockdown period our OPR Memorial Charitable Trust donated Corona relief materials and also 1060 bags each worth of Rs.1000/- containing essential grocery materials to the Poor people of various sectors viz, Construction workers, Dhobi Labourers, daily wage labourers, fishing communities, house maids, Poor vegetables and flower vendors, Road side eatable sellers in and around Chennai i.e. Tondaiyarpet, Royapuram, Ekkattuthangal, Tambaram, Adambakkam, Allapakkam, Saidapet, Mudichur, Ambattur, Padi, Korattur etc. Thanks to TV Channels and Newspapers (Dinamalar, Dinamani, Makkal Kural & Local Newspaper’s) for acknowledging.
Rs.15,000/- worth prizes distributed to winners and participants in “Annamalaiyar Kavadi Sindu” recitation competitions held in Madurai.
50 mobile phones worth of Rs.5 Lakhs have been distributed to poor students of Kaveri Women’s College at Trichy to pursue their online classes.
Also many contributions in smaller scale around Trust Office area.

Very Remarkable achievement of the Trust is to have its own building in the heart of Chennai city.

There is a provision for poor people to stay in our building. The Trust is accommodating students coming for counseling, interview and training and also poor patient. Litigants also are accommodated. This is a free service offered to the needy and poor people.

We need donations from good hearted people of our community so as enable us to continue our service. In future, those who are being benefitted by these measures will always remember the Trust with at most gratitude and positive attitude.
